What can be improved on the current site

We’ve tested the existing website to identify areas of improvement in user experience Here’s the brief analytics. 

  • Tours are what this website sells, 1 paragraph and 1 photo is usually not enough to make an impression for a $250 min sale. The tour duration, min group, difficulty level, age restrictions, etc. are the minimum info required to even start looking at the tour as a possible entertainment option.

    The tour photos, features, points of interest visited, swimming opportunities, refreshment and food options on the way, safety reassurance, and much more are what makes an impression strong enough to commit and click the “Book” button.

  • When the potential client ventured to start the booking, the process needs to be as smooth as possible to minimize cart abandonment. 

    The price should be visible in tour description or first booking steps. Also, the system adds 2 riders minimum, which is not explained to the customer. As the user gets to the Payment step, he is surprised to find out that the 1 person tour he booked costs $250. 

    Upon closer look at the many numbers at the Payment step, users may realize that the booking has 2 people instead of 1. It’s not easy to navigate to Step 1 as you can only see the Continue button at the bottom right, while the way to go back is hardly visible “<” sign at the top left. 

    On the “Bringing anyone with you?” step you user can see that the system automatically added 1 more guest here, and it’s impossible to change it. It’s good to explain about the group minimums here.

Booking step Extras allows you to choose the number of “Extra passengers (per bike)”, and “learn More” button looks promising as extra options are interesting to discover. It turns out to be unexpected “Duration: 180 min”, which I guess is a description of the tour length that happened to be in the wrong place.
